Co-Opstor/COLD

Co-Opstor is a Computer Output to Laser Disc (COLD) storage system that allows the users to store both the computer output files and image files on the same optical storage device. The computer output generated by the existing application is indexed to the Co-Opstor/COLD database. Co-Opstor has built-in file management and can be customized to meet the users requirements. Indexing fields can be defined by users and searches may be done based on single or multiple indexes. The print files generated by the host computer application can be transferred individually or in a batch. These files are indexed to the Co-Opstor database as they are downloaded from the host computer to an optical storage device. If an optical Jukebox is used, the initial set-up of Co-Opstor software identifies the platters to be used for storing the computer output. These platters will be then dedicated to be used for COLD data.

Once the data is indexed and stored on optical storage the user can log on to Co-Opstor database application and search for a particular file. If a match is found the user can initiate a request to retrieve a file. The file is retrieved and displayed as an ASCII file using COLDview display software. The Co-Opstor creates the directories and keeps a table of the directories which is updated each time a file is written on the optical platter. IMAGE-X’s MINDS archival management software allows for a fast search and retrieval of files from the optical jukebox.

Enterprise Wide: Co-Opstor allows reports to be stored, viewed and printed across a wide-area-network.
