SANTA BARBARA, CA: Image-X has just revamped its entire line of image viewing, scanning, and OCR applications. The 5.0 release includes numerous improvements to the graphical user interface, optimized display coding, and a host of new features, including bookmarks, embossed stamps, and a sophisticated text overlay tool.

The three applications share the ability to view, print, and manipulate TIFF images (all formats), currently the best compression method for scanned office forms such as memos, pricing sheets, invoices, and the like. The applications also integrate seamlessly with MINDS secure server technology, also developed by Image-X. ImageMate expands on ImageView's features with the addition of one-button scanning; ImageMate Plus adds state-of-the art OCR technology.

There are many image viewing and manipulation applications on the market, but few support compression formats such as Group-IV FAX TIFF, which is the standard for scanning black-and-white documents, and none are integrated with secure data warehousing systems such as the MINDS system developed by Image-X. Also, no image view application on the market has such a simple interface for scanning and OCR, as well has viewing and manipulation, as ImageMate Plus.

Currently, all software is available for Windows 95 and Windows NT machines; ImageView is also available for Macintosh PPC computers (running OS 7.5 and above).
